“Local Turkey Fed Completes Annual Banquet”
 
The Central Valley Struttin’ Gobblers (a local chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation or NWTF) held their 5th Annual Hunting Heritage Banquet over weekend.  Nearly 90 conservation minded individuals attended the Trophy Room in Humboldt.  Early projections show the event grossed over $15,000 through numerous raffles and a live/silent auctions.  Funds raised will be distributed towards national, state and local projects.
 
One such event will be taking place in a few weeks…on February 27th the CVSG will be hosting a Youth Ice Fishing Derby at Loss Lake just south of Humboldt.
 
The banquet was also able to generated additional men, women and children as local members.  Dustin Evans and Fred Finch teamed up to purchase this years much anticipated Alabama Hog Hunt.  May & Ray Schaefer will be traveling to Tuscaloosa in a few weeks (winner of the 2009 hunt).
